Ravish Kumar: The senior executive editor of NDTV India, Ravish Kumar, has resigned. The channel’s flagship weekday programme Hum Log, Ravish ki Report, Des Ki Baat, and Prime Time were all hosted by Kumar in the past.

Kumar is renowned for his innovative reporting on the pressing problems affecting the nation’s citizens. The Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award and the Ramon Magsaysay Award were twice given to him in 2019.

The resignation is effective immediately, the channel announced in an internal email.

Suparna Singh, the president of the NDTV Group, made the announcement in an internal email to the NDTV staff.

Singh stated in the note that “Ravish has resigned from NDTV and the company has accepted his request for his resignation to be effective immediately.”

Few journalists, according to Singh, have had as great an impact on society as Ravish. This is evident in the overwhelmingly positive feedback about him, the large crowds he draws everywhere, the prestigious awards and recognition he has won both domestically and abroad, and his daily reports, which champion the needs and rights of the underserved.

A day after Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy left the promoter group of NDTV, RRPR, for the board of directors, Kumar resigned.

As the Adani Group approached taking over the television network, NDTV founders Prannoy Roy and his wife Radhika Roy resigned from their positions as directors of promoter group vehicle RRPR Holding Private Limited.

Adani Group purchased RRPR, which owned a 29.18% stake in the news channel.

The Roys, however, continue to serve on the news channel’s board of directors and still own 32.26 percent of NDTV as promoters.

The two have resigned with immediate effect from their positions as directors on the board of RRPR Holding Private Limited (RRPRH), according to a stock exchange filing made late on Tuesday by New Delhi Television Ltd.
