On Sunday, a tanker collided with several vehicles on Pune’s Navale bridge, injuring a number of people. The highway accident resulted in a 48-vehicle pileup. According to PTI, the tanker’s brakes failed on its way to Pune, causing it to collide with several vehicles on the Navale bridge. The major accident on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway injured several people, but no fatalities were reported.
“A major road accident occurred at Navale bridge on the Pune-Bengaluru highway in Pune in which about 48 vehicles got damaged. Rescue teams from the Pune Fire Brigade and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) have reached the spot,” the official said.

According to the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority’s (PMRDA) fire department, at least 48 vehicles were damaged in the incident, including those that sustained minor damage.

BJP MLA from Pune Siddharth Shirole took to Twitter and urged citizens to not share any unverified news on the mishap. “Unfortunate accident on Navale Bridge on #Pune-#Bengaluru Highway. Rescue teams from FireBrigade & PMRDA are on spot and tending to those injured.I request citizens to not share un-verified forwards &also refrain from visiting the spot & interfering with trained professionals,” the BJP leader tweeted.

According to the official, at least six people were injured in the incident and are being treated at two hospitals.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 8.30 p.m. in a 400 to the 500-meter radius. The Andhra Pradesh truck was traveling from Satara to Mumbai.
