Odisha Train Accident: According to railway officials, at least three people were killed and several others were seriously injured when a goods train derailed at Korai railway station in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Monday.

At least three people were killed when a speeding goods train derailed at Korai station in the Jajpur district and crashed into waiting passengers.

Seven people have been injured and are being treated. More casualties are not ruled out because the coaches are assumed to have crushed more people. A search for more people under the derailed bogies and debris is underway.

The derailment was so powerful that a coach of the goods train ran on top of the foot over the bridge at the station. The derailed coaches slammed into the station, knocking down the waiting room, ticket counter, and station master’s office.

According to reports, the goods train traveling from Dongoaposi to Chhatrapur derailed, and eight wagons slammed into the platform and waiting hall, causing the casualties.

According to them, the number of fatalities could rise because some people were seriously injured, and the station building was damaged in the incident. The cause of the derailment is still unknown. According to officials, train services have been impacted in part because both lines have been closed due to the accident.

According to East Coast Railway (ECoR) officials, the incident occurred around 6.45 a.m., while some people were waiting on the platform for a passenger train.
