MCD results 2022: The Delhi MCD Election 2022 results were announced on Wednesday. AAP wins 134 seats, BJP at 104 seats, Congress 9 and Independents 3. BJP loses control of MCD for first time since 2007.

In the closely watched polls held on December 4, Delhi recorded a voter turnout of 50.48 percent, the results of which may have ramifications beyond the city. The election was widely billed as a three-way race between a fervent AAP, a confident BJP, and a hopeful Congress. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has 250 wards, and 1,349 candidates are running in this election.

The BJP won 181 of the 270 wards in the 2017 civic election. Due to the death of two candidates, voting on two seats could not take place. The AAP had won 48 wards, while the Congress had won 27. That year, the voting percentage was around 53%. This year, the highest polling percentage (65.72%) was recorded in ward no. 5 (Bakhtawarpur), while the lowest (33.74%) was recorded in ward no. 145 (Kolkata). Poll after poll has predicted an AAP victory, but the BJP remains confident that they will win a majority.

While initial polls showed the BJP ahead of the AAP, Kejriwal’s party has passed the 125-vote mark. Meanwhile, Congress has continued its dismal performance and may be reduced to single digits.

The Delhi MCD elections were held on Sunday (December 4), with approximately 50% of eligible voters voting.

On Monday, an exit poll predicted a big win for the AAP in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) polls in Delhi.

Exit polls predicted that the BJP would suffer a defeat in the Delhi MCD elections for the first time in nearly fifteen years.
