Karnataka: A man from Karnataka has been arrested for the murder of a Flipkart agent who was on his way to deliver an iPhone that the accused had ordered. According to reports, the man murdered the delivery agent after demanding Rs 46,000 for the phone.

Hemanth Datta, 20, is accused of murdering Hemanth Naik, 23, during an argument while unpacking the package. Datta was supposed to pay Rs 46,000 upon delivery of the iPhone, and when Naik arrived to deliver it on February 7, Datta asked him to open the box. Naik, on the other hand, refused and told him that if he opened it, he would not be able to take it back and demanded that Datta pay for it. Datta allegedly stabbed Naik to death after the men argued.

According to investigations, Dutt stuffed the victim’s body in a sack and kept it at his house for three days before burning it near a railway track. According to police, he even purchased gasoline to burn the body and destroy evidence.

The case was brought to light after Naik’s brother filed a missing persons report on February 8. On February 16, while the police were looking for him, a friend informed the brother that a body had been discovered near a railway bridge. The friend speculated that it could be Naik.

The brother then filed another police complaint. Meanwhile, the police had begun tracking Naik’s phone and discovered that it was last seen at Datta’s house. A team raided Datta’s home and discovered the Flipkart delivery agent’s phone and other belongings.
