Delhi Liquar Case: On February 26, the CBI arrested Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in connection with the Delhi Excise policy scam case. After nearly eight hours of questioning, the CBI arrested Sisodia in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-canceled liquor policy for 2021-22, officials said. Meanwhile, AAP leaders have defended Sisodia, claiming that he is ‘innocent’. Protests will be held near the BJP headquarters on Monday.

Today, AAP workers are protesting across the country in response to Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s arrest in the Delhi liquor scam case. Protests are being held in Bhopal, Chandigarh, Delhi, and other cities, despite tight security. A fight broke out between AAP members and police near the national capital’s party headquarters. Sisodia, who was arrested on Sunday after nearly eight hours of questioning, appeared in court today. Security has been increased in Delhi in response to AAP workers’ protests.

Sanjay Singh, an AAP MLA who was released from detention along with other party leaders on Monday, claimed that the BJP was attempting to tarnish the image of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, and that he would have Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and billionaire industrialist Gautam Adani “arrested within two hours” if the ED and the CBI were with him.

The CBI sought 5-day custody of Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia in a excise policy case.

Manish Sisodia has reached Rouse Avenue court. He will be produced before a special CBI judge shortly.
