Covid-19 was a “man-made virus,” according to Andrew Huff, a US-based scientist who worked at a controversial research lab in China’s Wuhan.
The New York Post reported that Covid was leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV), a state-run and funded research facility, two years ago, citing a statement in the British newspaper The Sun by US-based researcher Andrew Huff.

Epidemiologist Huff claims in his latest book, ‘The Truth About Wuhan,’ that the pandemic was caused by the US government’s funding of coronaviruses in China. The UK tabloid The Sun published excerpts from Huff’s book.
Mr. Huff is a former vice president of the EcoHealth Alliance, a non-profit organization based in New York that studies infectious diseases, according to the New York Post.
According to the New York Post, Mr. Huff claims in his book that China’s gain-of-function experiments were conducted with inadequate security, resulting in a leak at the Wuhan lab.

“Foreign laboratories lacked adequate control measures to ensure proper biosafety, biosecurity, and risk management, resulting in the lab leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” Andrew Huff claims in his book.
The organization has been researching several coronaviruses in bats for over ten years with support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and has formed strong bonds with the Wuhan lab.

The Wuhan lab has been the site of heated debates about the virus’s origins, with both Chinese government officials and lab employees denying that the virus originated there.
“Foreign laboratories lacked adequate control measures to ensure proper biosafety, biosecurity, and risk management, resulting in the lab leak at the Wuhan Institute of Virology,” Andrew Huff wrote in his book.
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is the primary US government agency in charge of biological and public health research.
Huff, who worked at EcoHealth Alliance from 2014 to 2016, said the organization spent several years assisting the Wuhan lab in developing the “best current tools to modify bat coronaviruses to infect other species.”
