During a recent podcast, veteran Bollywood actor Jaya Bachchan stated that she has no objections to her granddaughter Navya Nanda having a child without marriage. Jaya Bachchan has stated that ‘physical attraction’ is crucial in a relationship. She also stated that she has no objections to Navya Naveli Nanda having a “child without a marriage.”

Jaya also stated on her granddaughter Navya Naveli Nanda’s podcast What The Hell Navya that during “our times, we couldn’t experiment.” Jaya described the physical aspect as “very, very important,” adding that a relationship cannot last on “love, fresh air, and adjustment.” She also stated that she has no objections to Navya Naveli Nanda having a “child without a marriage.”
Jaya stated, “People will find it offensive coming from me, but physical attractiveness and compatibility are also important factors. We couldn’t experiment in our day, but today’s generation can, and why shouldn’t they? Because this is also responsible for a long-term relationship. It will not last long if there is no physical relationship. I believe that you cannot survive on love, fresh air, and adjustment alone. It is extremely important.”
“I’m looking at it very clinically,” the ‘Silsila’ actor advised the younger generation. Because there is a lack of that emotion today, the romance… I believe you should marry your closest friend. You should talk to a good friend and say, ‘Maybe I’d like to have a child with you because I like you, I think you’re nice, so let’s get married because that’s what society says.’ I don’t mind if you have a child without being married; in fact, I don’t mind at all.”
Jaya expressed her thoughts to Navya as well as her daughter Shweta Bachchan. She is Jaya’s elder child from her marriage to actor Amitabh Bachchan. They married in 1973 and had two children, Shweta (1974) and Abhishek Bachchan (actor) (1976). Jaya will next be seen in Karan Johar’s Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, and Shabana Azmi also appear in the film. The movie will be released in 2023.
