Superstar Rajinikanth celebrates his 72nd birthday today, December 12! And his fans are going above and beyond to honor the legend on his 72nd birthday. Sun Pictures, the production company behind Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer, has announced that Muthuvel Pandian’s first look from the film will be released at 6 p.m. today, on the occasion of Rajinikanth’s birthday. In this action-packed entertainer, Thalaivar will play jailer Muthuvel Pandian, as the title suggests.

Sun Pictures took to Twitter as the clock struck 12 on December 12 to share the good news. At 6 p.m. today, a glimpse of Rajinikanth’s Muthuvel Pandian from Jailer will be revealed. The tweet read, “Muthuvel Pandian arrives at 12.12.22 – 6 PM. Wishing Superstar @rajinikanth a very Happy Birthday! (sic).”

 

Nelson Dilipkumar wrote and directed the action comedy Jailer. In addition to Rajinikanth, Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Yogi Babu, and Vinayakan play important roles. Music is by Anirudh Ravichander, the cinematography is by Vijay Kartik Kannan, and editing is by R Nirmal. The jailer is set to be released in the summer of 2023.

Rajinikanth was born in Bangalore to a Maratha family as Shivaji Rao Gaekwad. The superstar was named after Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the great Maratha warrior king.
