Golden Globes 2023: RRR’s Naatu Naatu wins Best Original Song

RRR made India proud by winning Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu at the Golden Globes 2023. Soon after winning the award, Ram Charan and Jr NTR shared photos from their celebrations with their Instagram followers. Ram Charan, Jr NTR, SS Rajamouli, and music composer M. M. ‘Naatu Naatu’ competed in the Best Original Song category against – ‘Carolina’ (Taylor Swift) from Where the Crawdads Sing, ‘Ciao Papa’ (Alexandre Desplat, Roeban Katz, and Guillermo del Toro) – ‘Hold My Hand,’ from Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (Lady Gaga, BloodPop, and Benjamin Rice) – Maverick and ‘Lift Me Up’ (Tems, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler, and Ludwig Göransson) from Top Gun – Wakanda Forever: Black Panther.

 

Jr NTR posted a picture of M. M. Keeravani with Golden Globe trophy and wrote, “Congratulations Sirji on your well-deserved #GoldenGlobes award! I’ve danced to many songs throughout my career but #NaatuNaatu will forever stay close to my heart… #mmkeeravaani #rrrmovie.”

RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles. Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava performed the song Naatu Naatu, which was written by Chandrabose.

In addition, the film was nominated for Best Non-English Language Film. RRR was defeated by Argentina’s Argentina, 1985 in the category of Best Non-English Language Film. Germany’s All Quiet on the Western Front, Belgium’s Close, and South Korea’s Decision to Leave were the other nominees in this category.

The Fabelmans won Best Drama Film, and The Banshees of Inisherin won Best Musical/Comedy Film. Cate Blanchett (Tar) and Austin Butler (Elvis) were named Best Actor and Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, respectively. Colin Farrell (The Banshees of Inisherin) and Michelle Yeoh (Everything, Everywhere, All at Once) were named Best Actor and Actress in a Comedy/Musical, respectively.
