The Supreme Court chastised producer Ekta Kapoor on Friday for objectionable content in her web series XXX.

“Something has to be done,” said a bench of Justices Ajay Rastogi and C.T. Ravikumar. You are polluting the minds of this country’s young generation…”

The Supreme Court slammed producer Ekta Kapoor on Friday for “objectionable content” in her web series ‘XXX,’ saying she was polluting the minds of the young generation.

The remark came as the Supreme Court was hearing a petition filed by Kapoor challenging the arrest warrants issued against her for allegedly insulting soldiers and hurting the feelings of their families in XXX, which aired on her OTT platform ALTBalaji.

The bench went on to say that the OTT (Over the Top) content was available to everyone and asked Ekta Kapoor’s counsel, “What kind of choice are you providing to the people?”

The bench made these observations after senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, who is representing Ekta Kapoor, stated that a petition has been filed with the Patna High Court, but the chances of the matter being heard soon are slim.

“You are polluting the minds of children,” the bench said.

However, Rohatgi argued that the Supreme Court had previously granted Ekta Kapoor protection in a similar case, and that there is freedom of choice in the country. He went on to say that the content is only available to subscribers.

The court has stayed the appeal for the time being and suggested that a local lawyer be assigned to inquire about the status of the appeal in the relevant high court.

After receiving a complaint from ex-serviceman Shambhu Kumar, a trial court in Bihar’s Begusarai district issued an arrest warrant for Kapoor.

Kumar claimed in his complaint that objectionable scenes about soldiers’ wives were shown in the second season of the web series XXX.
