Citadel First look: Priyanka Chopra debuted her first look from the upcoming spy thriller Citadel on Monday, drawing praise from Bollywood stars including Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Rajkummar Rao, Dia Mirza, and Sonali Bendre.

The Russo brothers’ upcoming series is billed as the first-ever global TV series, with a main show and local offshoots around the world starring local talent.

The series, starring Priyanka Chopra and Richard Madden, follows two elite spies who work for Citadel, a spy organisation with no allegiance to any country.

According to Vanity Fair, the action-packed spy thriller is set after the organization’s downfall, leaving the two agents to piece together what happened. The catch is that the spies’ memories have been erased.

Citadel colleagues Priyanka’s Nadia Sinh and Richard’s Mason Kane have a complicated history together. Given their recent memory loss, all of the characters have dual personalities.

Citadel’s first season is just the beginning of many series to come. An Italian and an Indian series are already in the works, with Varun Dhawan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu cast in the latter. After the events of the first season, Priyanka’s Nadia will join her Indian co-stars.

Citadel’s first two episodes, starring Stanley Tucci and Lesley Manville, will be available on Prime Video on April 28.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu provided an update on Citadel earlier this month. “The mission is on,” she wrote as she unveiled her first look from the series (fire icon). We’ve begun production on Citadel’s Indian installment.” See this post for more information.
