Assam Day Festivities celebrated on 42nd India International Trade fair in New Delhi

Assam Day is being celebrated amidst the ongoing 42nd India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Assam Day is being celebrated amidst the ongoing 42nd India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2023 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Minister for Industries and Commerce, Public Enterprises  and Cultural Affairs Departments, Bimal Bora, is the Chief Guest for the event.

An array of programs is scheduled at Amphitheatre 1 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm, highlighting Assam’s diverse cultural heritage. The event will feature performances of traditional dances such as Satriya, Jhumur, Hajong, Bihu, along with musical presentations by acclaimed artists Bhrigu Kashyap and Ridip Rankit. 

Dr. Ravi Kota, Additional Chief Secretary of Industries and Commerce for the Government of Assam, inaugurated the Assam Pavilion on November 14.

The fair is showcasing government initiatives from Assam, including One district, One product, promotion of Geographical Indication (GI) products like Assam lemon, Gamusa, Muga Silk, traditional Assamese attire, Ease of doing business, and the Assam start-up program.  

Shantanu Deori, serving as the Pavilion Director, represents the Commissionerate of Industries and Commerce for the Government of Assam at the Assam Pavilion.

This year’s IITF revolves around the theme ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – United by Trade,’ and the fair is scheduled to run until November 27th.
