AR Rahman Birthday 2023: AR Rahman celebrated his 56th birthday on Friday (January 6). The Grammy and Oscar winner has written music for films in Tamil, Bollywood, and Hollywood. While his soulful tunes have entertained audiences worldwide, here are some interesting facts about the composer.

AR Rahman was born Dilip Kumar into a Hindu family. His father, RK Shekhar, was a Tamil and Malayalam song composer.

Dilip Kumar became Allahrakha Rahman at the age of 23 after meeting Sufi saint Qadri Islam.
