Aamir Khan lately made a rare public appearance, one of his first since his most recent film, Laal Singh Chaddha, bombed at the box office, and announced that he would be taking a break from acting “for the first time in his career.”

It is worth noting that Laal Singh Chaddha was Aamir Khan’s first film in over three years, following his last flop, Thugs of Hindostan.

Khan has announced that he will produce his next film, titled ‘Champions.’ Aamir Khan revealed at a Delhi event that he had planned to shoot Champions after Laal Singh Chaddha, but instead chose to take a break from acting. Champions will be co-produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Sony Pictures International Productions India, and 200 Not Out Productions.

“When I’m working as an actor, I get so caught up in it that nothing else happens in my life.” That’s why I’ve decided to take a break. I want to spend time with my family. With my mother and children. “I feel like I’ve been working for 35 years and that I’ve been single-mindedly focused on my films, which isn’t fair to the people who are close to me,” Aamir Khan said.

Aamir was most recently seen in the Bollywood remake of Tom Hanks’ Hollywood classic ‘Forrest Gump,’ ‘Laal Singh Chaddha.’ Kareena Kapoor Khan, Mona Singh, Manav Vij, and Naga Chaitanya also played important roles in the Advait Chandan-directed film, which was released in August of this year. Despite a large budget and promotion, the film flopped spectacularly and was panned by both audiences and critics for being a shabby parody of the Tom Hanks classic.
