Drishti IAS Controversy: Dr. Vikas Divyakirti, the famous IAS coaching founder and teacher, faced a massive backlash after his video comparing Hindu goddess Sita to ghee licked by a dog went viral on social media. The video that has enraged social media users features Divyakirti narrating a Ramayana story that includes a conversation between God Rama and Sita.

A major controversy has erupted over a viral video of an educator claiming that after the battle in the Ramayana, Lord Ram told Sita that he did not fight the war with Ravana for Sita because Sita is like ghee licked by a dog and therefore not ‘eligible’ for him. Dr. Vikas Divyakriti is the owner and director of the Drishti IAS coaching center, which provides IAS coaching. As the video went viral on Twitter, users demanded action against Dr. Divyakriti and a ban on the coaching facility.

After the video went viral on social media, Twitterati slammed the famous coaching teacher for exploiting religious sentiments, claiming that there is no verse in the Ramayana that describes this conversation between God Rama and God Sita.

Then he added, “Ram explained to Sita that he did not fight the war for her. He fought in the war to preserve the lineage. You are no longer eligible for me because ghee becomes unfit for consumption after being licked by a dog.”

Who is Dr Vikas Divyakirti ?

Dr. Vikas Divyakriti, the IAS coaching center’s founder, is a well-known teacher. He earned a Ph.D. in Hindi literature from Delhi University.

His parents were both professors of Hindi literature.

He passed the UPSC on his first attempt in 1996 and was assigned to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Dr. Divyakriti, on the other hand, disliked his job and resigned because he wanted to teach.

In 1999, he established the Drishti IAS coaching center in Mukerjee Nagar, Delhi.

The video that has gone viral on social media is only a portion of a larger video in which Drishti IAS teacher explains that Lord Rama did not make the “ghee licked by a dog” remark; it was written by the author of that version of Ramayana. “The writer makes the character say what defines their own personality; it is the writer who makes the character say such things,” Divyakirti explained.
