During his visit to Assam, Nitin Gadkari announced several projects worth Rs. 50,000 crores to improve connectivity in the state.
Gadkari is on a three-day visit to the Northeastern States to review several projects overseen by his ministry.
He also expressed his displeasure with the current pace of work.

These Projects are :
- Guwahati Ring Road and Narangi-Kurua bridge
- 38-km elevated Kaziranga corridor
- Jorhat-Majuli bridge
- 6-lane Khanapara-Jorabat road
- Khanapara – LGBI Airport Ropeway

Gadkari was visiting all of the Northeastern states, where senior officials and contractors were present, to review all of the National Highway Development Projects.
He threatened the contractors’ representatives.
“Work or Quit the Work by Yourself,” Gadkari said.
He also ordered the company in charge of building the Jorhat-Majuli Bridge over the mighty Brahmaputra River to halt construction.

He directed Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma to appoint small construction companies from the state to build the bridge.
Nitin Gadkari arrived in Assam on Wednesday and was greeted with Assamese gamusa by CM Sarma.
Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, announced on Wednesday during a press conference in Guwahati that his ministry had approved a slew of new road projects worth Rs 68,000 crore in four Northeastern states to provide international standard surface connectivity.
Gadkari stated that new projects worth Rs 50,000 crore for Assam, Rs 9,000 crore for Meghalaya, Rs 5,000 crore for Nagaland, and Rs 4,000 crore for Sikkim were approved after reviewing various national highway projects in the region.
