Two railway stations under Northeast Frontier Railway in Assam have been awarded ‘Eat Right Station’ certification for providing high quality nutritious food to the passengers, officials said on Thursday.
According to an official statement, Rangiya and Mariani Railway Stations of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) at Assam have been awarded ‘Eat Right Station’ certification by FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India).
The Eat Right India scheme, initiated by FSSAI, aims to transform the country’s food system towards safe, healthy, and sustainable food for all passengers.
As part of the program, stations undergo an audit by an FSSAI-empanelled third-party agency, which assigns them a rating from 1 to 5. A 5-star rating indicates that the station fully complies with the necessary standards to ensure the availability of safe and hygienic food for passengers.
Eat Right India employs a combination of regulatory measures, capacity-building initiatives, collaboration, and empowerment approaches to ensure that the food served is suitable for both people and the environment.
