Eshanee, who previously won Miss Assam 2022, DY Calendar Girl 2021, and was a state finalist for Femina Miss India 2022, takes pride in each and every pageant she has participated in. Whether Eshanee has won or lost in the pageant, she always views it as a learning experience and a stepping stone to achieving her goals.

A Tête-à-tête With Eshanee Hatimuria:

1. Hello, Eshanee. First and foremost, congratulations on being named the first runner-up for ‘Miss Northeast 2022.’ So, how are you currently feeling?

Winning the Title of first Edition Miss Assam 2022 and Miss Northeast 1st runner-up felt very right for me to be very honest. When something is just right for you and it is only meant for you it will feel comfortable, it is that same feeling I had when this opportunity knocked on my door where I had to make a decision. There were 14 beautiful girls from 8 diverse states of northeast India in Miss Northeast 2022 and I got to learn so much from all my sisters that now I understand and celebrate their culture and traditions from the heart. I have traveled the length and breadth of the Northeast in my childhood and I understand the demography of the northeast but being one of the first queens of the entire northeast feels surreal. I think I found the tribe that I was looking for all my life.

2. You also represented Assam in Miss Earth India and were listed among the Top 50 Finalists. So what are the other pageants or contests you have won or participated in?

When it comes to regional pageants I have won Miss Assam 2022, DY Calendar Girl 2021. And for national pageants, I was the state finalist for Femina Miss India 2022. I take pride in each and every pageant I have participated whether I have won or lost pageant never changed my attitude to take them as a learning lesson, as a stepping stone to achieve milestones.

3. Given your diverse educational background (BA-LLB), how did you end up in the fashion or beauty industry?

Education has always been a top priority for my parents and me and which is why I completed my BA LLB first before trying other things in life. I have always been smitten by the world of fashion as a child. I love to dress up and pose for the camera as a child. But I was an ardent lover of pageants and I always wanted to represent my country India on a global platform. Somewhere I knew that I have to understand the fashion industry first before getting into pageants which is why I started modelling. And I hope to repress my country very soon.

4. What about your school life?

I have done my schooling at Delhi Public School, Guwahati where I spent 13 years of my life and I owe my upbringing and sincerity to this school.

5. Who is your role model and what are your future plans?

My role model is Chair Person of the Women’s Commission Delhi, Swati Maliwal. I really look up to her for the way she stands up for survivors of violence against women. She is brave and unafraid to voice her opinions and do good for the community.

6. Have you ever faced any discrimination or difficulties while pursuing your career and if so, how did you overcome it?

My next plan is to prepare for the national pageant physically and mentally. I know that it’s not going to be an easy journey because northeast to date faces discrimination when it comes to opportunities so I hope that the universe aligns the stars with my hard work and determination next year so that I get a chance to bring pride to my entire nation.

7. Tell us about your fitness journey and your daily health routine?

Fitness itself is a very wide topic and I believe that everyone’s way of perceiving fitness is different from others. You have lived in your body for whatever amount of age you are now so only you will know what’s best for your body. I do not think starving or adapting to different kinds of diets work because chances are you’ll start feeling anxious during the course or break the diet that’ll in return affect you even more. I think the best thing to adopt fitness as a lifestyle is to have a balanced diet where you’re eating the right food in the right proportions and at right time. Other than that physical activity like playing any sport, running, walking or gymming will make not just your body fit but also your mind fit.

8. What is your winter style statement that you will recommend?

This winter I feel like wearing a lot of black and red. I have recently come from Nagaland and I am inspired by the fashion sense out there. They all love the black colour and I think I would love to go for boots, overcoats and baggy sweaters in black and red.
