Dibrugarh University Ragging: A new input in the Dibrugarh University ragging case is that Dibrugarh University has established a helpline number for students who are forced to endure ragging or other forms of harassment on campus. Students can file complaints about ragging on the given number:9577645353.

They can also file written complaints on helpline.dibru.ac.in.

On Tuesday, a complaint letter in which the victim reported ongoing problems at the hostel to the warden went viral. The warden was accused of failing to take any necessary action in the case.

Anand Sharma wrote to PNGB warden Dibya Jyoti Dutta on November 17, 2022, but he did nothing to stop the ragging.

Following an incident in which a student at Dibrugarh University jumped from the hostel building to avoid ragging, the Assam Police apprehended three students.

This tragic incident occurred on Sunday at the university’s PNGB Hostel, following a strong condemnation from Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.


According to media reports, the three detained students were accused of dragging their junior, an Amguri native. The victim jumped from the two-story hostel building after the incident. He was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment right away. However, the main suspect remains at large.

Assam’s Dibrugarh University has rusticated up to 18 students for their alleged involvement in the Anand Sarma ragging case.

The victim is being treated in the ICU of Aditya Hospital in Dibrugarh. Doctors, on the other hand, recommend surgery because the victim has a spinal cord injury.

Following the ragging incident at Dibrugarh University, another shocking ragging incident has been reported at Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh.

In the case, two postgraduate students were found guilty. According to reports, the two postgraduate students allegedly harassed a junior postgraduate student, which is considered gross misconduct and a violation of college rules and regulations.
