She also reported Srinivas to the police.

The charges were dismissed by Congress as politically motivated.

Assam Youth Congress (AYC) chairman Dutta has filed a police complaint against the party’s national president of the Indian Youth Congress Srinivas B V, accusing him of “harassment and manhandling.”

Dutta filed the complaint on Wednesday at the Dispur police station in Guwahati, alleging that Srinivas has been “harassing and torturing her for the last six months by making sexist comments, using slang words, and threatening her with dire consequences if she continues to complain against him to senior party office bearers.”

Former Assam Youth Congress chief Angkita is Assam’s daughter, according to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who added that if the Congress cannot handle the situation within, the police will be called in.

In a series of tweets, Dutta accused Indian Youth Congress chief Srinivas BV of mental harassment.

Dutta filed a police complaint against Srinivas BV in Assam’s Dispur on Wednesday, accusing him of being “sexist and chauvinistic” and making insulting remarks. She made her statement before the Chief Judicial Magistrate court in Guwahati.

Srinivas allegedly heckled her and threatened to ruin her political career during the party’s plenary assembly in Raipur in February.

“I also recall him saying to me, ‘hey girl, what do you keep writing?’ and asking what alcoholic beverages I drink,” she claimed.

Following her charges on Tuesday, the Assam Congress issued a show-cause notice for her tweets accusing him of being a “sexist” and “discriminating against her based on gender.” She wondered on Twitter, referring to Srinivas as “sexist” and “chauvinist,” how he could lead IYC.
