Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma launches 100 CNG buses on January 1, and on the other hand Guwahati is to get 25 CNG stations by March this year.

At cabinet meeting in New Delhi, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma launched 100 CNG buses in the state.

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma made the announcement, saying that the launch of the CNG buses, along with a few other projects, will be a new year’s gift to the state.

CM Sarma also announced the merger of four newly formed districts with its previous districts.

On January 1, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the state has seen a significant decrease in cases of rhino poaching and road accidents in the last year.

On the first day of the New Year, he spoke with representatives from various print, digital, and electronic media outlets.

“2022 was a landmark year, probably after 25 years not a single case of rhino poaching was reported whether it be in Kaziranga, Orang, Manas or Pobitora National Parks. Although there have been isolated cases of one or two incidents, there has been a significant decrease in rhino poaching cases,” CM Sarma added.

Another progressive initiative undertaken by the state government has resulted in a significant reduction in accidents in the state, particularly on December 31 and January 1.

In comparison to previous years, when there were reports of 50 deaths as a result of traffic accidents, the number dropped to 15 last year.

Unfortunately, on December 31, 2022, Cachar reported three deaths: Golaghat 1, Tinsukia 1, and Dhemaji 1.
