Assam Cabinet Jorhat: The Assam state cabinet has approved a flyover from Guwahati’s Handique Collge near Paltanbazar Railway Station to the Noonmati area in order to make Guwahati the gateway to the northeast.

The proposed flyover will be four-lane and approximately 7-8 kilometers long. The flyover will connect the Paltanbazar Railway Station to the Noonmati area of Guwahati without any intersections along the Gopinath Bordaloi path.

People traveling from Nagoan-Jagiroad will be able to arrive at the railway station without any difficulty.

Previously, the Assam government approved three new flyovers in Guwahati, according to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on November 28.

The decision was made during a cabinet meeting in Silchar presided over by Sarma.

As per the Assam CM, the three flyovers will come up at traffic points near Down Town Hospital, Fatasil Garchuk, and Kumarpara-Fatasil.

The Assam cabinet decided on December 15 that private vehicle owners can now operate their vehicles as UberPool, OlaShare, or an aggregator without changing the number plates.

It should be noted that, in addition to Ola and Uber, the bike-taxi service provider Rapido has captured a significant market share.

As a result, the Assam state government has decided to establish regulations for riding two-wheelers on the road.

“From now on, anyone with a two-wheeler can make a maximum of four trips in a day, even if they have a private number plate, provided they tie up with taxi rental service providers,” Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said.

According to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on November 29, the Assam government has approved three new flyovers in the state’s capital of Guwahati.

The chief minister stated that the DPR for the flyovers will be prepared and will take one year to complete.
