Assam Cabinet : The Assam cabinet has decided to build a five-star hotel in Kaziranga

To boost tourism, the Assam cabinet decided on Wednesday to build a hotel in Kaziranga by Saraf Hotel Enterprises (Hyatt Group of Hotels).

During the meeting, the Assam government also approved scooters for 29,748 female students who received first division and 6,052 male students who received 75% or higher in the HS Examination, 2022, in order to encourage students and ensure better HS results.

According to the official, the total cost will be Rs. 258.9 crores.

 

Assam cabinet minister Jayanta Mallabaruah made the announcement during a press conference following the weekly cabinet meeting on Wednesday.

The education minister stated that the procurement process for the scooters has already begun and that they will be distributed to students beginning November 30.

The state government will also provide financial assistance to students for scooter registration and insurance.

The state cabinet also decided to raise the salaries of 135 assistant professors in provincialized colleges (institutions where the state government pays professors and staff salaries) in the state from 8,000 to 21,600 per month to a fixed wage of 55,000 per month.

On the other hand, the duty allowances of Assam Police home guards have been increased from Rs 300 to Rs 767, which is welcome news and fulfills a long-pending demand.

The Assam government made this decision during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday. As a result, the monthly wage of Assam’s 24,000 home guards has been raised to Rs 23,310.
