Assam Budget 2023 Key Points: The finance minister Ajanta Neog explained which sectors were prioritised in this year’s budget. She stated that a special emphasis had been placed on education and poverty eradication.

Ajanta Neog went on to say that the socioeconomic aspects had received special attention. “We have focused more on those living below the poverty line, and women’s empowerment will also be on this budget’s agenda,” she added.

According to finance minister Ajanta Neog, the Assam government is considering establishing 100 Adarsh Vidyalayas (Model Schools) in tea garden areas of the state.

The Cabinet has decided to centralise the recruitment of College Principals and Teachers by constituting the Assam College Service Recruitment Board. This will relieve the candidates (College Principals and Teachers) from the hassle of applying to multiple colleges. The Board will provide a single window for recruitment. This will help avoid the selection of one candidate against various posts.
₹500 cr for Assam Micro-Finance Incentive and Relief Scheme. Destitute women whose accounts have become NPA will be benefitted. Borrowers of upto ₹25,000 will be prioritised.

Mukhya Mantri Ayushman Asom Yojana: ₹ 135 crore

Annual health insurance of ₹5 lakh to ₹27 lakh additional families.
