Assam: AHSEC Decides to Exempt Fees for Disabled Students

AHSEC: To encourage differently-abled students to pursue higher education, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) has decided to waive fees.

The AHSEC has informed the Principal of Government BDS Deaf and Dumb School, Kahilipara, Guwahati, that the Council has decided to exempt students with ‘benchmark disabilities’ from paying the registration fee, examination fee (including mark-sheet fee), certificate fee, practical exam fee, etc., and center fee.

The United Nations General Assembly resolution 47/3 established the International Day of Disabled Persons as an annual observance in 1992.


The purpose of the Day is to raise awareness of disability issues and mobilise support for the dignity, rights, and well-being of people with disabilities. It also aims to raise awareness of the benefits of integrating people with disabilities into all aspects of political, social, economic, and cultural life.

AHSEC Board 2023: Time Table, Syllabus, Pattern

In January, the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) is expected to release the Assam HS Routine 2023. The 12th board exams 2023 are expected to be held in pen and paper format in March 2023. In February 2023, the AHSEC hall ticket will be available.

Last year, the board held the Assam HS Exam 2022 offline between March 15 and April 12, 2022. The exams were given in two shifts. The morning shift exams ran from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., while the afternoon shift exams ran from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. On June 27, 2022, the official website announced the Assam AHSEC Result 2022.

Assam AHSEC Exam Pattern 2023:

To be well prepared for the Assam 12th board exams in 2023, students should review the AHSEC exam pattern. Passing marks for subjects with no practical exam are 30% of total marks, while qualifying marks for subjects with a practical component are 30% for the theory part and 40% for the practical component. Students must pass both the theory and practical portions of the Assam High School Exams 2023.
